02, Worth a 2nd try

Is it worth me giving 02 a second try?

The last time I was with them the continually messed my number port up and I
could never use GPRS or Photo messaging, after several attempts at fobbing
me off they agreed to terminate my contract without penalty early.

With the appalling mess Orange is in, it seems the next best network for
coverage, tariffs and handsets, but then again they still have Indian
contact centres and poor customer service.

How long ago was this you were with o2? My port 3 years ago was a shambles,
it's much changed today though, and systems seem much beter integrated.

You didn't mention billing - were there no [systematic] overcharges or were
they all sorted out in single simple phone calls?

It was about 12 - 18 months ago, I know what happened I ported from an o2
sim card to 02 contract, but they didn't say I couldn't do this.

There were no overcharges, my final bill was about £12 in credit but I
couldn't be asked to phone them again to ask for it back, just in case it
reactivated the account.

I've had no real issues with them since moving from Orange, they
didn't mess up my PAC's, well one PAC was a working day late but that
was all.

Thought quality of service really depended on the o2 service provider?

Yet to get the Indian call centre, didn't even know o2 used them, CS I
have spoke to seemed on the ball, which is more than I can say about
the Orange monkeys.

Ok it's only been a month since I joined o2, so haven't had that much
experience of them.

Sam.

They're still crap. Fine if you don't need customer service, or have a
problem!

<on being attacked by trolls in URW, UBA>

I have personally wrecked the ozone layer and trashed countless green
lanes. I have lost count of the number of farmers' fences weakened by my
straightlining. I have puked on country pub tables, staggered through guy
ropes, crapped in sensitive upland areas, left orange peel on Skye, fondled
the Paps of Nora, stolen bicycles, and, to my shame, once voted liberal.

It is with regret that I note that Richard, aka Big Dick, has opted for the
withdrawal method rather than continue his intercourse with this ng using
suitable protection.

I have been with O2 for a good few years now, first a PAYG, and when I
needed to use the phone a lot more in the daytime, went to a contract. It
was originally the Online 200. I find now they have a cheaper CS number to
ring, it was expensive before, and got thought to a nice Scottish chap; if
you email support you get the Indian response. also the response is
difficult to find, its hidden in a cut and pasted reply, so its easier to
ring CS. I have now changed to online 500 texter, and getting 750/750 calls
and texts for £35 with a month rollover. I was paying £35 before for the
online 200, with £5 insurance, which Ihave now cancelled. All in all, I have
been pleased with them.
