Port number to three - then back again ? (after contract)

Currently I am with O2 (I have my original orange number ported to them)
I am planning on going with a three contract this time as it is a very good
offer.
I know you can't port the "three" number out , but the O2 number that I port
in , can that be ported back out after the contract ?

Not sure what you mean about not porting out a 3 number, is that
something new because i've ported a number out of 3 before.
