At the moment, you're giving no indication of how much you're willing
to pay or how much you're planning to use the service. You'll probably
get more sense out of the group if you do a bit of background research
first and approach with some more detailed questions - I'd recommend as
a starting point checking out the price plans on the five major mobile
phone operators' websites (
www.t-mobile.co.uk www.orange.co.uk www.three.co.uk www.vodafone.co.uk and
www.o2.co.uk ).
T-Mobile's Web-And-Walk unlimited Internet tarriff might be worthwhile
- it all depends on /how much/ you're planning to use the net on the
move. Similarly, I have no idea what the Betfair mobile interface is
like - the SonyEricsson K750 is definitely a phone more than it's a
mobile computer, so will only be suited to fairly basic surfing.
If you genuinely don't care about phone use, something like the
T-Mobile XDA Vario might be a good bet - it's effectively a handheld
computer. It's also just been superseded by the Vario II, which
addresses the Vario's main weakness of being rubbish at actual
telephone calls, so you might be able to pick it up quite cheaply.
