K750i unlock problem

I was given the unlock code for my K750i by Vodafone this morning. I
followed all the instructions: take SIM out, reinsert battery, jog left,
**, jog left etc. etc. but after I had completed the process and
reinserted the SIM card the handset's display showed 'Insert SIM' and
has done so ever since.

I've given the SIM card and the 'phone's contacts a wipe in case contact
was poor but there is no difference.

I can't ring Vodafone: the phone doesn't work, and I've been waiting for
almost six hours for an email response.

Anyone got any idea on how I can resurrect the 'phone?

I recently unlocked mine although on Virgin, the instructions were slightly
different but it worked first time, I will see if I can find them out if you
think it's worth a try

I have finally been able to talk to Vodafone and their special unlocking
department are going to get back to me within 72 hours. If it doesn't
work I'll get back to you...
