I've noticed that Google wap (Google mobile) no longer seems to work on a
number of non symbian Nokia phones including, for example, 7600 and 3510
(different browser versions). Entering a search item and selecting submit
results merely in the search box being cleared and immediate return to the
    search term home page.

The service seems to work on other brand phones including SE.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    Gareth.

Yep, also broken on my 6310i which has a WAP 1.2.1 browser. How does one
report stuff like this to Google?

    Benedict.

I did find that the palm version, http://www.google.com/palm works on my 6230.

Uses more bandwidth, but its temporary stopgap until it gets fixed.

I reported it to Google who responded within a couple of hours or so!

Google's response was to a) ask for further information b) explain that they
have passed the issue on to their "engineering team" and c) suggest a work
    around.

The workaround is to access: www.google.com/xhtml (this appears to use more
data than the wap address but it does work as effectively as the wap
    service).

Wow. Google have fixed the problem. It's amazing that a company with so many
non paying "customers" can provide a level of customer service that would
put most premium service companies to shame.
