Free web-based SMS - 02.co.uk only give 10 a month!

02.co.uk has been very reliable in the past, however, recently the
monthly allowance has been lowered to 10 a month (which is pathetic!)
(I remember when it was genie & you could send unlimited texts from
www.genie.co.uk )


There is a way around this - you can use old PAYG sims to register new
02 accounts (so basically you get 10 free texts per month per account).
I think many places are selling a virgin sim card for £5 which
includes £5 credit. So, if you use PAYG alot, you could get several
numbers and setup accounts.


Another point - the message comes up as '02 alert' - it looks naff, but
hey - it's free.



I know there are several other websites for this, but I need 100%
reliability - the message must be send INSTANTLY

IMO this is not a bargain at all. For example, take your £10 per month and
call your operator. I'm sure most will add loads of text messages to your
tariff for £10 (no idea on number, but 500-1000???) - then send via your
handset. Then messages come from you and not "genie"

Handy if you want to send 1000's of messages from "genie" ... but for
everything else, I can't see it. Texts are so cheap these days anyway

Or am I missing something?
