Am looking to buy either the Sony Ericsson K800i or Samsung D900 but need to
know if the Samsung has the facility to ring and vibrate at the same time?
I am aware that other Samsung models do one or the other but not
    simultaneously.

    All help appreciated.

    Cheers

    Paul

Go test things first Paul in a shop; I've used both personally, but I'm into
SE's interface, and their software. Last time I used samsung software, I was
    pretty apalled.

I have had SE's up til now too but just fancied a change. What's so bad
about Samsungs? Is the K800i a significant upgrade from the w810i?

    Cheers

Each individual manufacturer UI takes a bit of getting used to. I really
used to *hate* Motorola's UI..yet my last two phones have been Moto's, with
    SE's before that.

FWIW, I actually think there's a lot of good things with the Samsung
interface..little things like being able to choose which of a contacts
numbers you redial is a big plus...and they fact they have finally
    implemented ring and vibrate.

It's unlikely that you'll be able have a really good play with a phone in a
store..sometimes you have to just take a leap of faith!

It's not a significant upgrade, it's 3G, so video calling, and the camera is
quite a bit better. It's overall just better, but I'd not say to get someone
to pay to upgrade to it, on the other hand if it's a free upgrade...

It's just certain things on the Samsung that dont make sense I found, be it
the mis-translated software, (I imagine things have perhaps changed by now,
but a year ago, the connection software was really pretty meqioqre,) or the
very basic T9 setting that actually *forgot* that you had it on T9, and you
had to change from multipress to T9 for every individual text message you
wrote. That wasn't the only complaint, and it's been fixed in later phones
they produce now from what I've heard, but there was other things, such as
sound quality, and on and on and on.
