Can anyone tell me how to tell if a sim is a sim or a usim on orange
    just by looking at it?

The sim I have here works in a Nokia 6230i but also appears to allow
    a 3g 6680 onto 3g on orange, so I guess it must be a usim. Didn't
think these worked in 6230i's though.

I can't answer definitively as I don't have any 3g Orange SIMs, but my
T-mobile usim works fine in my unlocked 6230.

Generally speaking a USIM and SIM are both compatible in 2G and 3G
handsets, however you won't get any 3G service with a 3G phone if
    you've only got a 2G SIM.

Recent Orange SIMs are yellow and purple, with 3G USIMs being green in
colour. USIMs have a 3 as the 7th digit (after the 894412 network
    code) of the SIM number.

    Hope this helps.

This one begins 894412235 yet allows 3g access so are you sure it is
    the 7th digit that's a 3?

    Thanks
