Transfer Old to New via SIM card

I have a Nokia 6310i which has now been replaced by a SE990i. I want to
transfer the contacts etc and thought the easiest way would be to swap
the new orange SIM into the 6310, copy all the numbers across and then
tfr the card into the 990 and copy the numbers into the 990. The 6310
shows all the numbers being copied onto the new Orange SIM but when the
card is then put into the 990 none of the contacts is showing. Any one
got any clues? Please!

If BT would be a better option, I can get the 990 to recognise the 6310
but I assume that I also need to get the 6310 to recognise the 990. If
so how would I go about this and how would I "send " the contacts
across to the 990? Is it possible to transfer texts that I have stored
on the 6310?

Need to set "Phone & SIM" on Smartphone. Only way you're gonna get the
texts is with Nokia PC Suite & cable first, except for the first few
which should be on the SIM. Also try Jeyo.com's stuff, very neat and
tidy
