    Hi,

I need an email to sms forwarding service where all emails sent to a
specified address get forwarded to my mobile phone as an SMS message.
Does anyone know of a good provider?

    Thanks,
    Mark.

If you set up an orange.net address you can set up alerts for this. It seems
to have been working quite well recently!!
You can also register your present email account in "email manager" and you
will get email alerts for those as well. I used to get these email manager
alerts once a day but they seem to come almost as soon as they arrive in my
    (yahoo) email account.

    Alerts are free

This is one of the few facilities that Orange has that other providers
    don't!

This is only alerts, though, not the actual e-mail message, which I
believe is what the OP is after...

There are a a fair few companies offering what the OP is after, and a
search on google should bring up some of them.

The way I do it is to use WAP to look at my inbox if an alert tells me
that a message is important enough. No point in clogging up the phone with
    all manner of spam..!

Orange Text Alerts give you the title of the email, so you can then
decide whether to download the full email.

Unfortunately, Orange email doesn't seem to support large email
attachments; the whole email simply gets returned to sender, if the
    attachment's too large!

If it's that large, there's not a lot of point in sending it as an SMS..!

Indeed that's what I'm after. Actually what I'm really after is some
recommendations as there are some dodgy looking websites out there and
I don't want to go with a fly-by-night operation. Anyone use such a
    service?

    Thanks.
