Upgrade prices are personal to each customer, so your prices may not be
    the same for everyone else.

Yeah, so those who, unlike me, have a monthly bill greater than £4 may well
    get a better deal.

Can you (or anyone else) explain how the upgrades page on their
website works... I understand about the pricing... but what I don't
understand is, why a number of handsets are offered, but when I then
login to get "my" upgrade price, a number of the handsets disappear.
eg for Nokia handsets, there are 8 available without logging in, but
after logging in, the N70, N73 and both 6233 options vanish and I can
    only choose from 6230i, 6111, 7360 & 6070.

I don't know exactly how the website works for upgrades but...

On possible explanation is - you could get those handsets but they would
attract a heavy price. Upgrades are done on a banding system, every
mobile number is banded 1-5, 1 being very low user (average bill £30ish
or lower), 5 being very high user (bills typically around £60+). The
phones being offered to you are probably the free ones, and once you log
in your banding is queried and then any phones which are not free
    disappear.

    Thanks Neil.
Anyone recommend if it is worth it to wait a while (for other models to be
available free) or "strike while the iron is hot"?

    Those are all 3G handsets.

Same happens to me. I would've considered getting a 3G handset upgrade
but searching for 3G after logging in gives an empty list.

Yeah, i'd actually noticed that.... was wondering if it was because i
currently have a 3G phone anyway... who knows....

Oh, and in response to Jon, I don't think its a price thing, as the
site will quite happily offer the SE W810i at over 100 quid

Aye, could be that. Quite why Orange would want to restrict 3G from OVP
Virgin users will remain a mystery. Maybe it's to try and "lever" people
    onto a regular contract.

That's exactly why. I had to leave my much beloved OVP Virgin account
for the high life of a T-Mobile web-n-walk SIM only option. Shame. I'm
sure it won't be too long before Orange wake up and realise that
no-one is prepared to pay their ridiculous data charges any more.

Just remembered actually - there was some rule about 3G and sub-£30 OVP
tariffs. I can't really remember it to be honest but that might explain
    it.

Thanks for the pointer Neil. I have a couple of OVP Virgin accounts
still open, not used for ages mind you.

Just grabbed a 6070 at no cost which arrived today and will come in for
something sometime. Wondering what to do with the others, strike whilst
available or wait as an other post to see if anything else crops up.

Just one query if anybody can help. A new SIM was included with the
phone and the Invoice has "To Regsiter your Upgrade phone call 0800 079
0027 with your SIM number handy...."

Do I really need to call and then swap SIMS - If I don't will my current
SIM continue with Orange non the wiser or do they automically change the
SIM details on their system at some point.

    Thanks
    Freddy.

Help, when I log on to my a/c, I use my own number (which is on Select500
and just upgraded so not eligible).

How can I get an upgrade on line? I just phoned up but they didn't want to
    play ball :-(
