Does anyone know what an open padlock represents? - on a nokia using
T-Mobile PayG (free simcard from internet). It appears when calling any
number; never seen it before.
Thanks

Far as I know, it means call unencrypted.
I've seen it flash on during call setup before with o2 a while ago - but
never during a call.

The radio link bit won't be, but all calls are at least open to being
monitored to a greater or lesser extent, as they pass across the
telecomms infrastructure.
Though I guess that voip-voip calls are never carried in the clear, so
maybe these are not being fed into the spooks monitoring and analysis
systems.
