bb5 unlocking (nokia)

i have a nokia 6234 locked to vodafone i know its a bb5, but is it
still the
case where they can only be unlocked by the service provider /
manufacture.
if so would it be vodafone or nokia to contact & would anyone have the
rough price for the service.

if the phone is under 12 months old it's £20, if it's over 12
months old it's free, customer services can provide it for
you, if you have a contract it'll go on next bill, if it's pay
as you talk you'll have to make sure you have £20 credit
before you call them.
