This may be a silly question, but I have always had a contract so do not
know.
My missus is on O2, and does not have credit.
I want to buy some for her. Can I go into the shop and get her some, then
jut give it to her (as a surprise), or do I need a card or something?
How does it work?
Thx

You can either do it with the top up card that came with the payg sim or
you can get a replacement and register that to work with the payg sim
and then top up in many shops etc.
Or, you can get a voucher from various shops and post-offices and redeem
it either from the companies web site or by phone.

Cool, obviously not worth it for a one off, and will take a while

Cool - just have to follow through menus - that's how I remember it from
years back
Thanks mate

You can use certain cash machines to top up the phone too ( I think
HSBC is one of them).
You just need the number and to know what network they are on. This
might be the easiest option for the OP.
Cheers

Or you can go to a cashpoint and select 'top-up mobile phone'.

Yeah but you can also get swipe card which you call up a number and register the
mobiles number against . You then take the swipe card in to loads of outlets and
hand over the card and the cash and you get the phone topped up .Handy for the
owner but a second card is handy for parents etc giving others a gift of a topup

IIRC you don't even need to know the network, just enter the mobile
number. It's been a long time since I did it with mine (£50 credit
typically lasts me 3 or 4 years..!)
