    its not on there. donwloaded the CA42 driver but it still says needs the USB
    to UART driver which i cant see anywhere on the nokia site? care to post a
    direct link

    the ca42 driver is all you need. got mine here.

    if thats the case, then it should have come with its own driver.

    Does the dongle on the cable come apart easily? The simplest thing to do is
    take it apart, note the number written on the biggest chip inside, then
    Google for that number. It seems that these cables can have a range of
    USB-serial chips inside which aren't obvious from the packaging (and the CD
    supplied might have drivers for all of them).

    FWIW I have an unbranded 'Siemens' DCA-510 cable bearing an MS3303H, and these
    also use a PL2303. Your cable might have the same chips in, or different.

    Otherwise you can try plugging it into Windows and finding out the Vendor ID
    (vid) and Product ID (pid) of the chip - Control Panel->System->Device
    Manager usually, find it and go Properties. Maybe it's listed here:
    http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdevcat.php?id=12
    (click 'Search' to look for your vid/pid pair)
