I've just got a T-Mobile PCMCIA 3G data card for my laptop. I've
noticed that jpgs are a lot more compressed when surfing. If I ctrl+f5
the page, the JPGs load all nice again.
I presume this is to save bandwidth, but at the moment, I'm unlikely to
get near the bandwidth limit and I'm getting a bit fed up reloading pages.
I assume it works by some proxy server somewhere compressing all the
JPGs I request by default. I was wondering if anyone knows if there's
any way to turn it off by changing some of the settings somewhere.

It's done by T-mobiles network, and you can't bypass it (that I know
of).
