I wish I could get the PoC to connect for a night. Just got one of
these today (as an "upgrade" from an A1000) and all it does is sit
there and say "
sim registration failed" (paraphrased). It's got the
latest V3 firmware that 3 allow, although there is a more recent one
available from Nokia.
It did connect initially, then again for a few minutes until I had the
temerity to send a text, which is still in the outbox an hour later.
I'm putting the (100% working)
SIM back into the (100% working )A1000
and this PoC can sit in the box if it doesn't start working soon. Or
may be I'll just use it as a radio as that's the only thing that
works!
I got the "phone" free and a £150 account credit which pays my monthly
fees for a few months, so I haven't lost anything, but it's extremely
annoying - especially after being lie^mislead by the upgrade team
again. This was meant to be an E61 - confirmed twice during the
upgrade call, the wrong phone (the N73) was delivered, when I
complained they said their notes said N73, oh and the E61 has suddenly
gone out of stock - apart from the TomTom one that costs £100...
strange that.
Sorry, rant over.
