I'd like to know the best option I have a mobile but I am open to options.

of being used as a modem, is your capable.

Neither I or Chris know because you wont tell us what it is.

What network are you on? Data options are different, in fact unless you are on
t-mobile, orange (payg) or 3 I wouldn't consider connecting a laptop to the
net.

I would take a look at the Nokia N73, on T-Mobile Flext and go for Web'n'walk
plus as an addon.
