    Hi there

I've just bought a new Nokia 6300 and am wondering, given the rumours of
poor battery life (it's a BL-4C), if I could take the battery from my 6230
(BL-5C) and use it instead? Would it do my phone any harm? Would it work?
Would it extend the performance of my new phone?

    thanks in advance

Wouldn't recommend it, you'll probably find some nasty small
print that says using the wrong battery also invalidates the
warranty as well, you might also find that the connectors are
    slightly different anyway.

Depending on who your SP are ring them and tell them, company
I work for if a customer rings up saying the battery is poor
we tend to just post them a new one out free.

Well no, try your sp first, if they agree the battery life
is poor they should send you one for nowt!

'Probably' and 'might' isn't convincing advice really is it? ;-)

IME, if you ring up and say you're gonna mess with summat, the call is
logged and then when you do complain, they say "oh well, on X date you rang
and said you were messing, so stuff your complaint"

I have no idea if it will work or do any harm, but the BL-5C is just that
little bit bigger than the BL-4C and it wont actually fit in the 6300. I
tried out of of curiosity. FWIW, I find the battery life on the 6300
perfectly acceptable. It isn't as good as my old 6230 was, but it isn't as
poor as some people have suggested.

I don't think it's faulty. Just not as good as the 6230. I shall live with
    it and carry a spare.
