I just tried to update the firmware on my girlfriends Nokia 6280 using the
Nokia updater. It found the new firmware and downloaded it, then started
updating the phone it got about three quarters of the through and then said
the phone wasn't connected and to take out the battery and try again but it
keeps saying it's not connected even though it is. Now I can't even turn on
the phone, if I try and turn on the phone when it's connected to the
computer the computer makes a sound like when you first connect new hardware
and then 5 seconds later makes the same sound again but the phone is just
dead it won't turn on at all, even if I disconnect it from my pc. Is there
anyway of getting the phone working again?

Send or take it to a service centre and have it reflashed.

The 6280 isn't listed on the Nokia update site.

I used the Nokia firmware updater that comes on the disc with the phone. It
detects your phone and searches for firmware updates which can be network
specific, which I guess is why there's nothing on the Nokia site.

Thanks for the reply Jon, I've sent it off to the address given on Nokia's
site.
