A pal is going to stay in Malaysia from the u.k. and wants to buy a nokia
with 3g, camera and a slim size here in the u.k. to replace his lost nokia
    N70.

he says they dont have contracts in malaysia, so he will buy the phone here
in the u.k. without a contract. i dont know about this phone stuff, but
he's asking for advice, because i have online connections.

could anyone recomend a nokia phone please with specs as mentioned above and
a place to get it at a good price, please. many thanks

He'll need a SIM-free phone if he wants to use it with a local SIM.
SIM-free phones are sold at pretty much the same price everywhere (+/- a
few pounds). A good place to shop for them is <http://www.expansys.com/>.
As for the model, if he wants to stick with a smartphone, the Nokia N73
would fit the bill. 3G with a much better camera than his N70. Not exactly
slim but not that big either. Other than that, you could have a look at the
E65 or the not yet released N76.

Why don't YOU just have a look for him ? I take it you do have a web
browser? It would be funny for your mate to have been given the impression
you're some expert when really all you're doing is relaying his question
here. So many people do that now. I am amazed he hasn't got the
intelligence to look on the Internet himself, come to this group , look in
magazines, phone shops or use other points of reference.
Once you have decided on a phone by looking at the features - use a price
    comparison site.
I suppose you will be wanting one of us to go and buy it for you?
    I hate helpless people.

Buy one in Malaysia. It will be cheaper and unbranded/unlocked.
