Washed phone!

I have managed to put my LG F2250 phone through a wash cycle (don't
ask!) Amazingly, after drying out the phone still works but the
display is ruined. Is it possible to economically fix/replace this or
is it scrap?

Don't know the phone but just fixed a Nokia, dead easy, with a screen off
ebay; £8 including postage and a T6 driver. Plenty of help on the net

You can replace the screen but, almost certainly, the water damage will lead
to corrosion and sooner or later (probably sooner) the phone will be scrap.

One of my old 7110s survived a washing machine - or so I thought - until it
died about 6 weeks later. The corrosion on the inside was clearly visible.

What you should do when you put phones or radios in water is take the
battery out and throw the phone or radio in a jar of meths. Leave it for a
few minutes then remove and dry out on kitchen roll.
Use a hair dryer if you must!
The meths displaces the water and evaporates with the heat, so it really
helps preventing corrosion later on.
I've used that many times on Kenwood radios and they have all survived muddy
puddles!

Also applies to both coffee and cans of lager spilt into computers, I am
reliably informed!
