I would be interested to see if Skype works as well. I have a N770 but have
had no reason to upgrade to the 2007 OS as the 2006 seems rock stable.
However if Skype does work that would be a reason!

The thing is, I only just got a Nokia n95 which does most of that. The
n770 seems too good an offer to miss. There do appear to be a couple
of VNC/Remote Desktop clients out there for it to connect to Windows
but nothing that will rescale the screen to the 770's specs.

Looks like an interesting project.

Which defeats the purpose of it being kinda mobile. I much prefer to
use things as tablets.
I think I may give this offer a miss on the grounds that it doesn't
yet work how I would need it to. But I've forwarded the URL to a
couple of colleagues who might find it more useful.

Oh **** it. I bought one anyway, and a 1Gb RS-MCC from SVP!

It doesn't work.
Something to do with missing libraries in the IT2007 hacker release.
Unfortunately, this is highly unlikely to be fixed.

Are there any benefits from upgrading or any downsides?
Thanx

The downside, from what I can see, is that I'm struggling to get media
streaming working - but there's a terminal command I need to use to fix
that when I get a chance. (Although video performance is pretty poor on
the 770 anyway - they're not really designed to work as media players,
but I'd like to get YouTube / Google Videos working)
IT2007 also takes up a few meg. more memory, but, if you have a decent
sized card, you can up the 'virtual memory' to 64MB anyway.
It looks and feels a lot 'nicer' than the 2006 release, which was a bit
clunky, IMHO.
Don't really know much more about it as yet, as I've only had it a few
days - but I'm glad I almost immediately upgraded.

I think so. But I like having the latest OS on I can on almost
everything.

I think it's purely going to be used to display Thottbot while I play
World of Warcraft so I don't have to minimise it.

White plastic bits are made out of the same stuff they use to dye
toothpaste. Does that mean it's toothpaste too?
