I have a Merlin U360 Vodafone Data Card. If I put my Vodafone contract SIM
in it and connect to my laptop all works well. If I put a SIM card for other
networks all works well. I recently got sent a new Vodafone PAYG SIM card,
but if I put this in I get an error meesage saying:

There was a problem with the SIM. Try:
- Re-entering your PIN code
- Ejecting and re-inserting your datacard
- Re-starting your computer

I have done all this with no joy :-( I have tried a friends Vodafone PAYG
SIM card and this connected fine. Went to local vodafone shop and purchased
2 more PAYG SIM cards. Both of these also came up with the error message
above. Have Vodafone PAYG SIMs been disabled to prevent use by data cards?
It's strange because it doesn't even get to the point of asking for a PIN
number - just spouts up that there is a problem with the SIM. Vodafone
customer service deny any disabling? Anyone know before I hunt for another
Voda PAYG SIM card???

TIA
