k800i sms problem

I have a Sony Ericsson K800i and had to reset the software as the phone
wouldn't switch on so I did that through the wontanserver. Now a few days
later when texting and using predictive text and scrolling through the
options for other spellings the characters are missing or only the first and
third letter. Can anyone help?
