o2 are going to charge all users for non-geo numbers
0844/0845/0870/0800 etc from the 28th Sep 2007 and will no longer be
included within free minutes, whether you have an old/new tariff on
personal or business.

o2 will be sending out letters and/or text mesages/emails shortly.

Can they do this if you have bought a year up front?

I got stung when they changed the weekend time on my Pay and Go SIM (bought
so as not to use up free minutes on the contract one at the weekend.

Suddenly instead of the SIM being good for 1,000 weekend minutes, it would
only run for 400.

It looks like they are about to do the same again - I have paid till next
June, but they are making me pay again for inclusive (and supposedly free)
calls to 0800 that I have already paid for.

Oh to renege now the deal is done. Again and again and again...

I tend to call quite a few 0870 numbers and when I heard that O2 had
withdrawn these from the bundle for new contracts and upgrades I held off
from changing my network/phone even though I was out of contract. Since
they've now withdrawn one of their few USPs I feel no loyalty to them and
shall be requesting my PAC. It's a shame as I've been with them since
Cellnet first came on air. I wonder how many other customers thay will now
lose.
