I have bought a Samsung E250 locked to Virgin Mobil (VM) and moved
across by existing VM PAYG SIM in order to keep numbers, credit etc.
All works fine, including voicemail *except* (a) when I activate the
divert in the settings menu I have to enter manually the number and (b)
when I deactivate the divert I lose the number. If (as is entirely
possible) this is a result of me being dim what ought I to do please to
allow me to activate/deactivate the divert more easily? Or do I need to
talk to VM to try to get them to sort out the results of my introducing
the old SIM? (I have not done so yet as I have in the past found it
hard to deal with them on technical queries.)

Can you activate a divert from a phonebook entry? If so, put your
    voicemail number into your phonebook...

Yes, thanks, that wd work. But I also have had VM delete all the
voicemail settings. Then, after renewing the voicemail, I have the
option to divert to the voicemail server so all is now working as it
    should.
