Better still, leave the phone on
GSM only until you want to use the
'net, switch to
3G then switch back when you're done. I can't vouch for
other handsets but on my k800i this extends the per-charge battery life
by a very significant amount.
FWIW I'm not seeing any connection problems on Web 'n' Walk plus.
