Phone specs often refer to an mp3 or media player but give little extra
info. The SE Walkman series presumably operate as one would hope and can,
for example, play an "album at once" from the memory card whereas the LG
KE970 can only play files stored in the memory card just one at a time -
making the facility of little use to me!

Is it necessary to download the manual for every phone I'm considering and
then examine it in detail to try to divine whether it can play playlists
of tracks stored on a memory card - or is there a simpler way that doesn't
involve making assumptions?

It initially looks from the manual as if the SE K800i uses playlists
merely for organising tracks in various ways (not necessarily for
playback) but a brief reference to "shuffle" and "loop" modes suggests
that a full playlist can be played without user intervention. The LG
manual doesn't seem to give a clue to the fundamental flaw in the KE970's
useless media player.

Can one say that "Brand X" has full-featured players whereas "Brand Y"
players are rubbish?
