Porting a number from Orange Contract to another Orange Contract

Hi,

I have been on an 18 month contract with Orange and is due to expire in
two weeks. I want to upgrade to the W910i but have been told this will
cost £100 to upgrade. I have noticed however if i join as a new customer
I will get the phone for free as well as £150 credit for my old phone
and a free ipod nano. I was told by the shop assistant however that if I
did this their is no way I could possibly keep my current phone number.
I'd appreciate any advice on how it might be possible for me to get the
deal for a new customer as well as being able to keep my current
number.

Thanks

You cannot port from Orange to Orange, what you will have to do is port out
to another network, stay a month and the port back to Orange. People
typically use Vigin for this or you could use O2's Simplicity contract as
you can cancel that after a month.

The nano and the £150 credit are mutually exclusive, you can have one or
the other, not both.

It would take considerable time but it is possible. However you will
have to get your new phone pretty sharpish as the nano promotion is
supposed to end at COB today.

You would have to port out to another network, wait a bit and then port
back in.

If you spend little on your monthly bills, yes. Upgrade prices are
personalised to the spend profile of the user. If you spend a lot you
will get good prices, if you don't - you won't.
