International calling via cheap Telco access No's on Vodafone

Do Vodafone generally get upset like Orange do when making calls to local
access No's for companies like 18185.co.uk? I've heard stories of Orange
barring calls to certain numbers or charging over inflated rates to
individual
landline No's.

I've not heard of Orange doing that - but IIRC T-Mobile barred them.

Not sure about the cheap telcos but we have a VoIP number as one of the
free ones we can call from our Vodafone company mobiles and once dialled
in we can get a dialtone from our Asterisk server to dial out again - in
effect giving us national and international calls from our mobiles at
very low rates.

I thought VF barred ports on their phones to stop VOIP telephony? I presume
you've got the £7.50 data deal (on a business contract) and using some of
the 120MB to VOIP call?

I read the previous post as being a normal call from his VF handset to a
VoIP-connected Asterisk box, thus allowing him to call out at VoIP rates
(plus the call from VF to the Asterisk box). No VoIP over VF's system.

Hi,

Working for Vodafone I know that these types of numbers will be
charged at the equivalent rates and won't come out of your inclusive
allowance.

You can get more information about the individual charges on the
Vodafone website
http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatc...ageID=PPP_0022

Hope this helps!

Hopefullyuseful
