Disabling internet key on K800i?

I've scoured the available manuals and online sources with no success.

Is there a way of disabling the internet key (the small key with the globe
symbol on the upper left of the key pad) on a SE K800i?

The key is too easy to hit by accident and can be quite costly (especially
when using the phone on Virgin given the default link to "Bites" and the 30p
a day minimum charge).

I can't find any setting for the key in shortcuts and the only workaround
I've found is to disable GPRS access completely by altering the connection
settings. Is there another way?

Gareth.

I don't have a k800i but I used this workaround on a k500i. It might
work for you.

If you change the APN of your default internet connection address to
that of a file on the phone it does not need to connect. Or just change
the address to file:/// which just briefly brings up a connection
error message.

Ignore the above. It should read change the default home page not APN

sorry about that.

Thanks - I tried it and it worked! The phone didn't even try to make a GPRS
connection.

It's an odd place to put a GPRS connection key though.

Gareth.

Odd [and annoying] from the users perspective, but very convenient if
you're a mobile network operator :-)
