Mobile + internet

Hi

My family's relocating from Denmark to London for 4-6 months next week
and need to establish:

1) Internet access, broadband, either mobile or ADSL
2) 3 mobile phone subscriptions, SIM only

Internet-wise we may be able to use one of the existing wireless
networks in the building, but if you guys know of other fair priced
short term possibilities let me know.

I'm new to the UK mobile market. It seems most contracts are for a
minimum of at least 12 months. I suppose a pay-as-you-go thing would be
the solution to choose. We'll probably be using a lot of texts and less
minutes talking. Any suggestions on current offers and preferred
solutions, please let me know.

Hope to hear from you

/Mads

I'd look at the T-Mobile SIM-only deals - they're a contract, but you
only have to give a month's notice to cancel. If they 'bolt on' web &
walk plus with this, then they'll also get 3G data.

Plus.net offers an excellent ADSL service for just £10 a month. It is for a
minimum 1 month contract, with a 1MB download limit..

Having said that, if you have to take a new BT PSTN line, they will require
a minimum of 12 month contract.

So you might be better off going for a mobile supplier for both phone and
internet.

The main problem with the internet access is the fact that you're only going
to be here for 4 to 6 months. For ASDL or cable you're looking at a 12 month
minimum contract (if not for the asdl service then at least for the BT line
to carry it on).
I know of only one pay as you go mobile internet service. This is offered by
the "3" network, I'm afraid that their website is a bit light on details,
but what there are can be found here...
http://www.three.co.uk/personal/prod...nd_/detail.omp
....both T-Mobile and o2 networks do 1 month rolling contract SIM only deals
for your mobile phone requirements.

Re: Mobile + internet

Thanks y'all. Good advise. Will go with the T-mobile solution for mobile
phone, I think, and pray that I can use other peoples wireless network,
might even pay them if I have to :-)

Re: Mobile + internet

All the networks offer SIM only deals with 1 month contracts...

I'd personally recommend Vodafone as in my opinion its the best network in
Britain - Best coverage and services
