3 mobile internet coverage Question

Can anyone tell me for definite that 3 mobile internet works outside the 3g
area, does it work on 2g and if so anyone know the speed.

Yes, it works when roaming onto 2G (Orange and for older customers
O2); speeds are GPRS speeds (about 56kbps).

Internet (using phone browser) or broadband (using laptop)?

I can get service on 2G on internet but not broadband.

I can get it on both. And from Three's website -- it states:

"What if I need to use Mobile Broadband outside the Turbo coverage?

...
Please note: Although you can use Mobile Broadband in the UK when you
roam onto 2G, the speeds are much slower."

I will have to try again, can connect/authenticate but not download
anything.
