edit imge on nokia 6151

Hi all,

There is an issue with the "Edit Image" function in my Nokia 6151.

I took a photo with the phone and this is stored in the Images folder
of the Gallery. The photo is in JPEG form and has dimensions 320 *
240.

Next, I edit this image and I save the edited image. The resulting
image is of Gif format. The real issue is that it reduces the image
size to the dimensions 128*96.

(A similar format conversion and size reduction occurs when I edit
pictures downloaded from Vodafone Live)

Does anybody know what is causing this and how it can be prevented?
