Can the Sony Ericsson W200i be used in the USA (It is locked to Virgin)?

The SE website says it can be used on the following networks:

GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900

These are not networks, they are frequency bands.

You rphone will work in the USA quite easily, however if you widh to
insert a non-Virgin SIM card you will need to ask Virgin to unlock it
for you.

Once unlocked it will work with an appropriate US Sim on the
1900MHz band.

A phone with the additional 850MHz band will give you more
network choices and coverage

US, 850/1900MHz
Rest of the world, 900/1800MHz
