When I took my SE W910i out of my pocket today the screen was cracked
and now looks like tartan . I'm wondering what SE would say if I
suggested they should fix it free under warranty . has anyone been in
this situation with SE or any other manufacturer?... . alternative is
to buy a rep from Ebay and replace it myself ...I'm told it's not too
difficult with a T6 driver

What sort of manufacturers warranty would cover getting the screen smashed?

Some unscrupulous people might take out insurance on it and then claim

That's lucky, best value tends to be to add it to your household insurance
(if you have some?)

They would say "no" or words to that effect.

What a daft question! Do you seriously think that you are the first
person in the world ever to have cracked the screen on their mobile
phone?

Either that or pay Sony to have it done. Probably be around £35, and
will leave your warranty intact. Call them on 08705 237237 to discuss.

Well that will be the last time I buy a phone where the screen is open
to everything .I have bought a replacement screen and I'll do it
myself .Meantime I've gone back to my SE W 300i which is a clamshell
type and much more sensible .

Did it myself with T6 screwdriver and replacement screen off Ebay
...£18 and 10 minutes of my time .Didn't even need the T6 ( so could
have done it for £3 less,) as I had thought. A very small Phillips
driver did the job ..with help from here .
