Just ordered a couple of these (we don't use a lot of mins or texts)
but my missus gets frustrated that the sims we currently have (CPW/O2)
have a very low number of available text message "slots" - anything
above about 12 messages and it moans that it's full.

Does anyone know if this is an issue with the Asda sims ?

    TIA

I thought those phonebook and SMS slots on the SIM
were a legacy from a bygone era.

I think they are still used when you save a text message - my 15 month old
o2 sim appears to have 50 "slots"

I've been swapping Asda and Tesco SIMs between various Nokia handsets
last week. The sent and received SMSs are staying on the handsets
rather than moving with the SIMS.

We'll be using them in Motorola V600's... if it isn't held on the SIM
    then the phone is fatally flawed allocating so little space :-}

You can, with Nokia phones, select where to store contacts and SMS - phone
    or phone and SIM.

SIMs have storage space for SMS and contacts - some have more space than
    others.

I bought an ASDA mobile SIM in January. I've just checked and I see that it
    has 25 SMS slots.
