It's television mate, it's not real life.
A SIM cannot store video clips, as you pointed out.

I didn't see the programme, but in real life, I bet the Pole and the
police would indeed *think* that the video was stored on the SIM...

Very true. And a good many of those several notches brighter still
wouldn't have a clue which part of a mobile phone a video was likely
to be stored on.
