Could somebody please advise the menu location of this feature.
    I have a Motorola V3 on Voda.
I know it is hiding in there somewhere !
I came across it by accident once but cannot recall it now.

    Many thanks

Possibly - but I am sure there is no menu item on the Motorola named
    anything like that.

The basic data that NetMonitor displays is present in every phone, but
only the program NetMonitor will show it. As far as I can find
NetMonitor runs in Symbian which is found only one (some) Nokia phones.

    Fraid not !
I think Woody is correct about the info being present in all phones.
I do not believe "NetMonitor" is essential to access it though.
I have written to Moto now - requesting the menu item id.
I know I used to get it on my old Phillips Diga - many years ago !

    Many thanks

I subsequently wrote to Motorloa with my query and have received a promt
    reply.

"Regarding your email we would like to advise you that it is not possible to
make your phone show the phone mast it is currently connected to ."

This is particularly annoying as I saw the detail on my phone only a couple
    of nights ago
but failed to keep a record of how I did it.
It gave me the datail that I was connected to the Minshull Vernon mast and
the postcode (perhaps only part) thereof.
I wiull persevere but I will still welcome help on this.

Do you mean *#105# which gives e.g.:
    CS:4477850113000
    VF-GALA
    REGISTERED 12-JUN-2008 08:52:45
    PS:447785012107
    SGSNLD1
    REGISTERED 10-MAY-2008 13:04:43

    See also *#102# (gives e.g.: 4477850113000 VF-GALA)

or the local area STD code, which on an L6 (I assume V3 will be very
    similar) is:
    Message / Info Services /
    Press Menu key: Setup /
    Service: On
    Active Channels: 50 [O2 uses 200]
    Quick View: 50
    Save Q.View: Yes (or No)
    Languages: English
Auto Cleanup: None (or as you wish - don't forget to clean up manually
    if 'Save' is 'On')

    Display then gives e.g.: 01224
    (Equivalent O2 gives eg: "01942 0161 01204 01925"]

    Note:
*#120# gives 'Location Services are on' (or '…off')
    *#100# gives 'phone number
    *#101# gives HLR, e.g. 'lhlrjl 0011 0128'
    *#103# gives time
*#104# gives 'No Mailbox' or Mbx number

Is that S60? If so, pynetmony.googlepages.com might work. I've never managed
to get it signed properly, however, and lost interest.

What are 'Location Services'? and is there any point in turning them on?
Also, if I were to turn them on (##120#), how would I turn them off again??

Presumably gives details of nearest "services"- so it has to establish where
    you are to work.
120 is presumably an on/off alternative key not just an on key, so you would
use 120 to turn them off as well.
Yes - thank you - the answer to my query seems to be in the message files -
I will delve and report back.

    Many thanks
    Pete
