NO apparently, it's a Motorola phone, and you have to buy a minimum of £10
    credit?

Risk of dealing with CPW is that you will be hounded for years by debt
collectors trying to recover a debt that is a figment of their imagination.

Cheapest I can find are several Sony- ericsons at £4.84 with £10 ontop
    airtime purchase.
I would be wary of the Moto deal anyway -
it would probably be the basicbasicbargainbasement model no that escapes me.
It does not seem to feature on their site anywhere.

Orange Shops did them for free for several weeks earlier this year,
subject to a £20 top up.

I saw something of this, but you only got the £3 if you used a debit or
credit card to buy the phone. If you paid cash then it was £20 plus a top
up. Not sure if they can refuse legal tender if the advert was to the
public (e.g. in their shop window).

The obvious danger is that either will effectively give CPW a Continuing
Credit Card Authority, which you can't stop and they can easily continue to
charge. Tales of CPW's standards of finacial probity form a good percentage
of posts in this group, not to mention various law and legal groups.

    so

Never pay by card in CPW.

****! That's shocking. Please clarify: the extra cost isn't that you have to
buy a £20 top up (instead of a £10 one), you have to actually pay £20
instead of £2.88 and then buy a £10 top up in addition?

It was in a newspaper IIRC, so I can't remember all the details.

Has to be a catch at that price.

CPW used to be a good company. Nowadays no way would I give them
anything that might identify me. No response even from letters directly
addressed to the CEO. Repeated threats from their debt recovery company
for a completely imaginary debt. Absolute disgrace.

istr it was the telegraph - the only one I ever see.
i did not read the small print that always comes with such ads.
