    Hi All,

I would like to buy one of Vodas USB mobile broadband thingys:

    http://preview.tinyurl.com/a2hzuj

So I looked up my local Voda shops on Yell and they all showed the
same number. That turned out to be Voda themselves. Google revealed
    the same (or old) number(s).

I rang them and they said they can't contact the shops directly nor
tell me if they had any stock of what I wanted, is this correct
    please?

    Cheers, T i m

p.s. It would be the numbers for Harlow or Enfield I would be
    interested in.

The central London shops do seem to have their own numbers. For example

    17 Harben Pde, Finchley Rd, London, NW3 6JP? - 020 77220110?
    The Whiteleys Centre, Queensway, London, W2 4YN? - 020 73139550?
Liverpool Street Station, Upper Floor, Liverpool St, London, EC2M 7PY? -
    020 72472033?

You might try phoning one of them and asking for the Harlow or Enfield
    number?

    Kind regards,

    Dave

Thanks for that and just tried phoning them as suggested. Recorded
message, "Sorry, this line is temporarily out of order" on the first
and last and a FAX switch or summat on the second?

Probably all routed through their central number now?

FWIW, HQ said something about the stores not having any 'Customer
    facing' staff?

Seems odd that you can't contact a telephone shop by telephone?

    Cheers, T i m

Lots of companies are stupid like this.

Screwfix for instance - try and establish stock before a visit and they
won't tell you the number and even they don't know online, but in store
there are cards with it on.

OTOH Maplin at great at this, but their prices are great (as in large) too
    :-(

Vodafone gave me 2 shops numbers less than a month ago to check stock at
their own suggestion. The numbers were all mobile numbers from memory (or
    follow me numbers)

Hmm, well I would be happy with *any* number! ;-)

This is a newsgroup - not Vodafone Customer Services. They have already
answered your questions. What else do you expect people in a newsgroup
    to do for you?

Offer alternative numbers, as someone has already said they were given
mobile contact numbers so it may depend which customer service person
you get through to. Now I know (via this n/g) that that is a
possibility I may try them again.

    Any problems with that?

Don't worry, his reply seems to be a standard to all forms of
question. I gave him the benefit of doubt by replying at all.
