Don't be in too much of a hurry... I almost made the mistake of buying a 7000 until I found out that it still is a work in progress and does not yet have the functionality of the 6000. I checked out the Get It Now ring tones on the Verizon website, and it is only compatable with 2 packages, compared to a couple dozen for the 6000. I spoke with a tech at Verizon and he verified they were making over the air updates to the 7000 almost daily, but it could be months before the programming catches up with the hardware. I was the "first kid on my block" to own a Kyocera 7135, and I sent it back after 24 hours, as the phone reset constantly (Palm OS), the speaker phone was lousy, and the MP3 player dropped out a lot. Now they seem to work well, a year later. BTW, the tech also said the 7000 can not yet download actual sound files, just the
MIDI ones for ring tones...
