Can't load ringtones - "locked"?

I have a Nokia phone from US Cellular. When I try and download a MIDI ringtone I created, using Nokia PC Suite and an USB cable, I'm told the file is too large. Of course it's not. I can download exactly the same tone to a Cingular Nokia phone.

US Cellular has "locked" the ability to download/transfer ringtones from anyone but them, via their EasyEdge offering. I think that's crap. So...

Does anyone know how to unlock or remove this restriction from the phone. US Cellular tech support says they don't know anything about it, while the local store says they know that's happening but don't know how to get around it.

I don't know anything about US Cellular (except they're not in Florida ) but have you tried getting it to your phone a different way, like emailing it to your picturemail address and saving it on the phone, or uploading it to a site like rumkin's phone uploader and retrieving it through your WAP browser?

I am able to load ringtones on my USC RAZR phone. You may need to chop down the song with a program like soundforge to make it work.

I cant load anything onto my us cellular phone, Ive got a v323i it connects to my bluetooth but wont transfer files

you need to get Motorola Phone Tools i have the same phone same company and havent had a problem with it
