unlocked phone

hey guys I was just looking for a new phone and I found a unlocked krazr online and wanted to buy it and use it but US Cellular is such a pain with the phones and what not I was wondering if I bought it would I be able to transfer over to it or would It not work like that? I know the krazr is offered through US Cellular but im not sure if an unlocked one would work for US cellular any help would be appreciated

Re: unlocked phone

US cellular has the old network technology, (CDMA). unlocked krazr would only work with the new network technlology (GSM). The manufacture for that phone (motorola) provides phones for both networks CDMA/GSM and manufactures the phones to work only with their network, so it cannot be crossed.

If you really want a Krazr, check the moto website. They do sell USCC branded phones, including the Krazr. It seems to be a tad cheaper than buying outright from USCC, but that isn't 100% confirmed.
