Could I Still Use The Phone?

I've got a question about my U.S. Cellular phone. I had a plan for a while and it's about to expire. My mother-in-law has a family plan on Verizon, so I was going to switch over to her plan once mine expires. She's already gotten me a phone for the Verizon service. However, my question is thus:
Once my U.S. Cellular contract expires, can I still use the stuff that I've downloaded on my phone? For example, I bought the unlimited usage of 1 v 100, because I love that game. Will I still be able to play the game on my phone even if it doesn't have a contract anymore?
