I've recently purchased the Motorola ve 20 which I am thinking was a mistake and would like to get a Samsung Delve instead.

This would have been my original choice but the sales rep at US Cellular told me a data plan was required. If I sign up for a data plan, is it something I can cancel after a month and still have an active phone?

I know these phones can work without the internet and I'm unsure why a customer is relegated to a junkier phone because they require a data plan.

    Any info would be helpful!
    Thanks!!!

I am not exactly sure of US Cellular's policies, but many wireless carriers regulate some phones have the data plan.

Usually, if it is made mandatory, it is not something you can remove at a later date. I do recommend contacting customer service through their 800 number: 1-888-944-9400. I did check their website and it states that a data plan is required.
