verizon changing night min to 7:00

Has anyone heard anything about this? I called verizon to ask about changing my plan and I mentioned to the customer service rep that it's too bad that their night minutes start at 9 because that's the only reason my boyfriend won't switch from sprint (their min start at 7 on his plan) She told me that there are negotiations in progress to change verizon's night rate to start at 7:00.

Yep I heard that quite awhile ago actually... still nothing as of yet... these things usually take awhile to implement, though. We'll see...

Yeah and they are putting up a new tower down the street from you next week, or maybe it's next month (Let's see when does your grace period expire?)

Who are they negotiating with? Themselves? They don't need permission from anyone to do this.

Actions. Actions. Actions. That's what counts.

I believe it has more to do with money than having permission...

There have been rumors of this for awhile. It took Verizon awhile to get all markets from 8pm offpeak to 9pm offpeak.
Rumors on Americas Choice no roam started in 2003 and it took almost 2 years until it did happen so it probably will happen. My guess it might be something they might do near the end of the year for hoilday promo.

It can take awhile if there is opposition to the tower. Some of Sprints towers took 4 years to build.
Even without any opposition it still can take awhile to do approval process and paying $400,000~$1,000,000 for a tall free standing tower.

No doubt this is true.

But the point I was making is the ridiculous tendency of reps to make any type of claim , whatever they think the customer wants to hear, in order to pacify them. And this isn't a "Verizon" problem, it's a human problem.

Caveat emptor.
