Will I be able to switch back?

I'm currently using an old school star-tac but i will probably be getting a razr soon, since they just got added to verizon's lineup, and i want to switch back & forth between the phones so that i dont risk messing up the razr on the construction site over the weekends and stuff... my question is, will i be able to re-activate the startac online(once i've ativated the razr) because i dont believe it has the GPS that appears to be required now... thanks in advance

According to VZW they will not if it is not GPS capable.

so, even though i can use it now, if i switch, i wont be able to switch back?

Also, is it correct to assume that the motorola star-tacs are not gps capable?

Unless it's the 2004 10th Annie edition, I doubt it; sharp looking itself.

I'm not even sure if any of the U.S. versions have/had it.

I took mine out of service 10 years ago.

Sorry bro. The answer is NO. Plus, you don't want to be switching back and forth between phones. Verizon supposedly charges $20 for ESN changes, unless you do it through My Account. I'm not sure if this is nationally standardized.

Unfortunately, by the time my renewals came up, and I was told that my StarTac 3000, will be not compatible phone and I better get one of digital phones and offered me free v120c as they told me and that was in '99. They stopped doing activation on non digital in that time, and now recently they're only accepting new phones that is GPS capable..eventhough its digital phone.

alright, thanks everyone... i was going to use my account to switch, but i guess i need to decide between a new phone and my old school one... i still get a stronger signal than most of the rest of my friends with new verizon phones, and the startac i have seems to be indestructible, so i guess i'll see how long it lasts
