Verizon Data Plan

Is there a way to get a data plan through Verizon without having minutes?

Re: Verizon Data Plan

No.

I know, I should go into great detail as to why, but the best way to get your questioned answered, is to go to Verizon or call them, and ask them yourself.

Re: Verizon Data Plan

I don't think there's a way to get a data plan w/o minutes, but I did find that there were data plans offered that weren't advertised on their website.

Re: Verizon Data Plan

Data plans are available w/o voice plans for Smartphones only. It's a bit more expensive, but it can be done. It just depends on what you are looking for in a data plan.

Re: Verizon Data Plan

Ah, that makes sense. I had the Q and only wanted voice but then added a small data plan when I found they had some. This belongs in another post, but, for what it's worth, I hated the Q.

Re: Verizon Data Plan

Many people dislike the Q because of the "buggy" Windows OS. All of the complaints I have received about the device are that the OS "freezes" from time to time, and can only be restarted by taking out the battery.

1. It froze up at least once a day.
2. It took several buttons to get to the most basic functions.
3. I didn't like the Internet Explorer menu, especially how it was preloaded with useless links and folders.
4. Locking and unlocking the keyboard took two buttons.
5. Even just as a phone, very difficult to use one-handed.
6. Speakerphone not as sensitive as I'd like.
7. Numbers on telephone pad didn't have their corresponding letters (as are on most telephones).

I know some of these are petty and others are personal, but I just didn't find it user-friendly. I'm not the most tech savvy cell phone expert, but I'm certainly not a novice either, and it just didn't feel right.
